Kat Barker

Kat Barker is an Actor, Writer, Director, and Choreographer with a BA in Theatre Arts from Occidental College. Since moving to Chicago in October of 2003 to further her studies in acting and directing, Kat has become a teacher for both Second City and After School Matters at Washington High School, teaching improvisation and sketch comedy. In 2005 she had the distinct pleasure of Assistant Directing Second City's Mainstage Revue: Iraqtile Dysfunction under the Direction of Jeff Award winner, Ron West. Kat currently directs and performs around Chicago, most notably in the two-woman show: Scissor Chix. Kat is a graduate of Second City's Conservatory, Writing and Directing programs. She has also had the privilege of training and/or collaborating with: The Actor's Gang , A.S.K. Common Ground Festival at UCLA, California Institute of the Arts, Carnegie Mellon, The San Francisco Mime Troupe, iO and Annoyance Theatre.
