OPENING DOORS & CREATING ACCESS

ABOUT:

The Second City Outreach & Diversity division has four unique programming areas:

• Outreach: Alliance building with colleges, community organizations and corporate sponsors
   
• Talent Cultivation: New diverse talent seeking careers in sketch comedy and improv
   
• Diversity Week: Exposure to a power week of improv intensives, networking and mentorship
   
• Shows: Performances produced by our division featuring new, emerging and established talent under Urban Twist Ensemble name or REACH – Risky, Eclectic Artists’ Comedy Hour

Our ongoing commitment to expose the improv art form to new diverse voices, underserved communities and build long term relationships is at the heart of what we do. We accomplish this by attracting exceptional comedic talent, teaching a myriad of workshops to colleges and organizations and building new partnerships in the community.
Our goal is to open doors, create a bridge and make this art form accessible. We believe everyone regardless of race, gender or sexual orientation should experience the gift of improv and have the opportunity to discover and share their creative voice. And, we’ve reached a lot of people in the years and transformed lives and careers. That’s the best gift, you can ask for.
