The Second City Training Center is the largest school of improvisation and sketch comedy in the world.  Our Hollywood Training Center is located in the heart of Hollywood, California, and offers programs for youth and adults in improvisation and sketch comedy writing.

Our adult classes are taught entirely by Second City Alumni from Resident and Touring Companies.  There are different entry points for experienced actors or those just beginning to explore improvisation.  Each teacher is a working actor/writer/director and brings the unique blend of The Second City tradition and experience with the film and television industry. Some classes are geared toward the application of improvisation and writing for the stage and/or the camera.  The program for Second City Conservatory Graduates centers Long Form Improvisation with strong scenic work, and affords students the opportunity to perform weekly at our Studio Theatre.  

Our Teen/Youth program is open to students ages 8-17, and features a three level Conservatory program, an advanced level Teen Troupe, and holiday, spring break and summer camps.  
Many of our adult and youth students are already working film and television actors, so you never know who you'll see in the hallway.

Yes and...is the Second City Hollywood alumni blog where you will find the murmurs of some of the most interesting, talented and award winning improvisers this side of the Mississippi.

Youth Workshop
10am-12pm
Come see our youth show, The Really Amazing Improv Show followed by a workshop with cast members after the show. Ages 8-18. Price includes admission to show.

Adult Workshops:

12-2pm Beginning Improv
Explore the fundamentals of improvisation. It's a great way to explore your creativity, hone presentation skills, become more comfortable speaking in front of others and think on your feet.

2-4pm Beginning Writing
An Intro to sketch writing, brainstorming ideas, creating environment, writing dialogue, and working with story.

4-6pm Beginning Musical Improvisation
Focus on the elements of improvised words and music. Learn the basics of musical improvisation and collaboration in a fun and supportive environment.

6-8pm Video Lab
Based on the success of The Second City's "7 Day Shorts,". Teams take a suggestion from the audience on Saturday nights and makes a weekly video. A little taste of how to pitch, write, act, shoot, and produce short internet videos at the drop of a hat.
