Freshly graduated from their rural high school, Fagabond downloads gay hookup app Findr for the first time hoping to avoid being ‘the weird virgin’ in college. What follows is a series of raunchy, ridiculous, and revealing interactions with various app users, giving Fagabond a crash course in the archetypes of gay dating. Scamming sugar daddies, faceless profiles, straight girls looking for a GBF, and married men, Fagabond meets them all. However, it’s not all bad, as Fagabond finds a mentor in an older trans person, and even begins an intimate relationship with a closeted boy from their high school. On the surface, our show is a brash comedy about gay stereotypes, but at its core this is a story about a young queer person finding the courage to be their authentic (trans) self in a world which seeks to erase them.
