Rick Hall started out at The Second City in The National Touring Company, where he met his future wife, Laura Hall (Wasserman). He went on to open two Main Stage shows, “John Paul Sartre & Ringo” and “Catch 27”. Rick was also a founding member of Chicago’s Improv Institute.Rick was a series regular on the improv-based TV show “The Factory”, created by fellow Second City alum, Mitch Rouse. He played Agent Johnson on 27 episodes of the hit Disney show, “KC Undercover”. He’s been on countless television shows including “NCIS”, “Curb Your Enthusiasm”, “24”, “Key & Peele”, “The Middle” and as the vet on “Seinfeld”. He’s been in several films, including “My Fellow Americans”, “Vice Versa”, “Three Fugitives”, and “The Long Isolation” written by Deb Lacusta and Second City alum Dan Castellaneta.

Rick loves writing and telling stories. His storytelling podcast, “So Sez Rick” features recordings of stories he’s told around the country at various venues and festivals. Rick has recorded a cd of several of hisstories and turned one of them, “Slice of Pie”, into a short film, which has won numerous awards on the film festival circuit. “Pigboy”, Rick’s one man show of stories about growing up on a farm in Central Illinois, was chosen for the HBO Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen, and enjoyed successful runs in L.A., Chicago, and across the Midwest. After seeing “Pigboy”, Joyce Sloan called him, “A modern day Will Rogers”.

Rick performed in “The People vs. Friar Laurence, the Man Who Killed Romeo & Juliet.”, at Chicago Shakespeare, written and directed by fellow Second Citizen, Ron West. Rick also played the lead role in “A Flea in Her Ear” on the Chicago Shakespeare mainstage.

Rick and his wife, Laura, teach music improv workshops around the world. They especiallylike helping improvisors who are nervous about singing to discover that song improv can be fun and accessible.
