Jerome Kurtenbach

Jerome Kurtenbach (J Rod) is an avid composer, producer, artist and musician. As a film composer he has scored the award winning score for the short Touch, dir. Jane Lanier, among thirty other feature and short films. He wrote the score for several of The Apple Sisters shorts. Kurtenbach released his premier album Exit (as J Rod), and has co-written and produced the albums Afraid of Karma, Suck It Christmas!!!, Please Love Me, and Rattle My Cage. Along with Rachel Bloom, he is writing the new musical Broadway Crazy! He is also the featured pianist on three other iTunes albums. He serves as Musical Director (MD) for The Apple Sisters Variety Show, and arranged and orchestrated their albums 1943 and Happy Holidoozy Merry Christmess. He is also an MD for The Second City Hollywood’s Really Awesome Improv Show. He served as MD and Arranger for the World Premiere of the New Musicals Town Without Pity, I Want My 80’s Musical, and One Way Ticket to Hell. Kurtenbach holds a professional degree from USC in their film scoring program recording at Warner Bros. and Capitol Records. Most currently Kurtenbach continues to write for the screen and stage. He is currently developing GREENLAKE STUDIOS, offering private instruction in piano, composition, song writing, and vocal coaching. Developing and producing several albums of original material and beyond keeps him on the front of diversity and creativity. He serves on faculty, piano coordinator, a musical director (Seussical, Pippin, and Rent) and arranger for the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in Los Angeles. Kurtenbach is a member of ASCAP.
