Clare McConnell (Mainstage Alumna) is a Canadian Screen Award and Canadian Comedy Award nominated actor/comedian best known for portraying ‘Effie Newsome’ on CBC’s Murdoch Mysteries and Klingon Leader ‘Dennas’ on the Paramount+ series Star Trek: Discovery. Recent credits include a recurring role on the Sony/Peacock series Twisted Metal, a leading role on season 5 of AMC’s Slasher, and a supporting role opposite Jeremy Alan White in feature film Fingernails. Additional television credits include American Gods (Starz), Coroner (CW), Killjoys (Syfy) and Children Ruin Everything (CTV/CW). She voices Iana in Ubisoft’s Rainbow 6: Siege and Clarice in Supermassive Games’ House of Ashes. She performs sketch comedy and standup regularly in LA and Toronto. @itsclaremcconnell
