Derek Brummet

Acting

Derek Ryan Brummet has been acting in theatrical productions and independent films in Chicago since the late 1990s. Notable companies he’s worked with include Mari-Archie, Seanaci, Trap Door (Jeff Citation Award winner best ensemble for Porcelain in 2001), The Court, and Silent Theater. Derek has been fortunate to collaborate with celebrated director David Cromer several times, in the Jeff Award nominated Journey’s End and in the critically acclaimed midwest premiere of Cherrywood by Kirk Lynn. One of Derek’s fondest roles was playing Private Mike Crosby in the play By Obit, directed by Training Center Acting Program head Michael Pieper. He is a graduate of Columbia College Chicago, The Second City Training Center Conservatory, and holds a Master’s Degree in teaching from National Louis University. He most recently starred in the independent feature film City of Lust.
