Originally from Toronto, Canada, Blayr came to Chicago to study at Northwestern University and never looked back. She fell in love with comedy at The Second City after a friend insisted she take an improv class. Blayr holds a master’s degree in clinical psychology and loves helping students become more confident in their writing. She created the class Writing Sadness Through Humor to encourage students to write about sad experiences while also learning tools to add humor to their work.
