Position Summary:

The Production Coordinator helps maintain The Second City NY’s Training Center and supports the company’s management of student lifestyle, facilities, and faculty members.  This is a part-time role, reporting to the Artistic Director of The Second City NY Training Center.  Shifts will be Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 6-10pm and Saturday and Sunday from 11am – 7pm.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Oversee logistical, administrative, and communication needs for the Training Center, including but not limited to:

Operations and Management –

  • Maintain the upkeep of the Training Center facility including appropriate classroom set-up, cleanup and wayfinding
  • Order and manage inventory of classroom supplies and class program graduation materials & food
  • Create term rosters using enrollment information from student registration system
  • Upkeep teacher substitution coverage with notification to payroll
  • Provide support for student activities & Training Center led events
  • Provide on-site support to faculty including prints, technical assistance, and student issues
  • Schedule class shows, student events, and Music Director visits including communications to instructors, website buildouts, and payroll
  • Support Youth & Teen Programming, including Summer Camps & intensives
  • Support the facilitations of auditions, in-class demos, and camp events

Communications –

  • Manage & support the Deliverables and Second City NY Training Center inboxes
  • Send new term welcome emails to students
  • Compile information for student events, performances, and auditions

General –

  • Attend Training Center & All Staff Meetings
  • Maintain confidentiality concerning students & faculty medical and behavioral needs
  • Ensure that safety procedures are followed and that all programs are in compliance with The Second City standards, all relevant regulations and other applicable standards
  • Work with the Training Center production team & the Artistic Director of the Training Center

Secondary Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Cover Front Desk and serve as emergency Box Office coverage
  • Provide emergency Company Management and production coverage for Second City Mainstage productions in limited circumstances when Company Management staff is not available
  • Assist in the management of the studio rental / New York Spaces email

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities):

  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 – Outlook, Word, Excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on customer service
  • The ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, loud environment
  • Complete a background check meeting Second City standards

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.
