This experienced human resources role assists with and has responsibilities in the following functional areas: employee relations, policies and procedures, extended healthcare benefits, onboarding, recruiting, DEI initiatives, organizational morale, occupational health and safety, employment verifications, and training and development.
  • Fantastic communication skills; clear, concise, responsive, and kind
  • Knowledge of HR core functions
  • Knowledge of Canadian federal and provincial employment rules and regulations
  • Strong focus on employee relations
  • Working knowledge of payroll and HRIS systems; Ceridian Dayforce experience a plus
  • Union experience is a great asset
  • Funny (Just kidding; everyone knows HR isn’t funny…)
  • This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment inside a sensational creative environment. This is not a hybrid role, but some periodic WFH is fine. The offices are located at the brand new home of the Second City in Downtown Toronto, on the water in a beautiful space.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position. Occasional evening and weekend hours may be desired, as seeing our shows is a perk!
Travel: Probably not, but maybe.
Required Experience: Five+ years would be terrific. All duties and responsibilities can reasonably accommodate individuals with disabilities.
