Industry execs from 3 Arts Entertainment, NBC, Thruline Entertainment, Nickelodeon, and The Second City will be lead in an panel discussion by Ithamar Enriquez on the state of diversity and the do’s and don’t of the industry. Get the inside scoop from David Miner (3 Arts Entertainment), Jandiz Estrada Cardoso (NBC), Sherley Ibarra (Nickelodeon), Joshua Funk, Dionna Griffin-Irons, and Claudia Wallace (The Second City). This panel is free.


MODERATOR: ITHAMAR ENRIQUEZ
Ithamar Enriquez was born and raised in El Paso, Texas. While living in Chicago, Ithamar performed and wrote in the Second City touring company, ETC stage and Main Stage. Since moving to Los Angeles, he has had an extensive career in commercials, film and TV.  His one man silent sketch show Ithamar Has Nothing To Say, has been featured at The Comedy Central Stage in Los Angeles and at comedy festivals around the country. TV credits: A Series Of Unfortunate Events, Arrested Development, Key and Peele, The Office, Adam Ruins Everything, Teachers, Weird City and No Activity. Film credits:  Lady Bird, Popstar, Mascots and Beyond The Lights.

3 ARTS ENTERTAINMENT: DAVID MINER
David Miner is a partner in the talent management and production company 3 Arts Entertainment, where he guides careers of artists and produces comedy series. His recent series work includes NBC’s “The Good Place,” and “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” as well as Netflix’s “Master of None” and “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” among others.  David is the recipient of fifteen Emmy nominations including three consecutive primetime Emmy Awards as a producer of NBC’s “30 Rock.” A New York native, he began his career as an intern at Chicago’s Second City theater and produced live comedy in New York before joining 3 Arts as an assistant to Erwin Stoff in 1995. He holds a degree in theater from Skidmore College where he met his wife, Jennifer.

NBC: JANDiZ ESTRADA CARDOSO
SENIOR DIRECTOR of Talent Development for NBC Entertainment, Executive Producer for the STAND UP NBC Comedy Tour and THE NBCUniversal SHORT FILM FESTIVAL. Jandiz has worked on pilots and series with networks including AMC, ABC, CBS, Starz, SpikeTV and MTV, as well as tentpolling films with feature studios including Disney, WB, Paramount, Universal, NewLine and Screen Gems. In 2010, she joined NBCUniversal’s New York casting office, covering all pilots, and serving as Associate on the last season of the Emmy Award Winning series, 30 Rock. In 2013, Jandiz wrote the foreword for  the acclaimed resource book, “Actors Choice: Monologues for Teens, Volume 2.” She was Voted “Backstage Magazine’s” Reader’s Choice Award for Audition Coach of the Year, along with other honors. Upcoming films include SEVENTH SON starring Julianne Moore, Jeff Bridges, and Ben Barnes.

NICKELODEON: SHERLEY IBARRA
Sherley Ibarra is Nickelodeon’s Director of Talent Development & Outreach where she oversees Nickelodeon’s Writing and Artist Programs – two of the most competitive and successful vehicles for up and coming creatives.  Ibarra is also responsible for spearheading the network’s outreach efforts at industry and college events, which enhance the ability to act as a pipeline for identifying, developing, and mentoring innovative new talent.

SECOND CITY
JOSHUA FUNK is the Artistic Director of The Second City Hollywood. Joshua is an alumni of the Second City Detroit as well as a multiple Jeff Award winning director in Chicago. He is now an Emmy nominated composer for his music on Comedy Central’s Key & Peele, and his other composing credits include Wabbit, The New Looney Tunes, Scooby Doo: Shaggy’s Showdown, Teachers, and NBC’s Red Nose Day. DIONNA GRIFFIN-IRONS is Director of Diversity and Inclusion for The Second City U.S. and Canada. A Second City Detroit alumnus with 18+ years of experience as a performer, producer and facilitator, Dionna has taught 200+ workshops at colleges, women’s shelters, corporate boardrooms and worked with the United States Embassy in Norway and Latvia introducing improv as a tool for social change. Her outreach work has appeared in Diversity Journal publication, on NPR, ABC, NBC, and numerous academic posts including her 2015 TEDx Talk at the University of Chicago. Her 2014 published work can be found in Rowan/Littlefield’s anthology Women, Writing and Prison. She is currently writing a memoir on the intersection of comedy, diversity and women in prison. @dionnagirons

CLAUDIA WALLACE is Casting Director and Cast Consultant for The Second City, Resident Stages and Touring companies.  She is also an Artistic Consultant and sits on The Second City Executive Committee. For over 20 years, Claudia has worked in several capacities at The Second City.  She’s an alumna of the Touring Company and the Chicago Mainstage and works as an actress and facilitator for Second City Works, the Business-to-Business arm of The Second City. Claudia is also an accomplished actress who can be seen on TV, film and on stages across the country.  She brings a wealth of knowledge to these roles, and Second City is thrilled to have her as a part of the team.
