About The Show

Carl Kozlowski has lived one of the most unusual and uniquely funny lives imaginable, maintaining a triple career as an entertainment reporter/film critic, podcaster and professional standup comic in Los Angeles despite battling narcolepsy. He's slept through Carlos Mencia's telling him about the moment his grandfather died, had Mick Jagger yell "Hey You!" into his face to wake him up at a Rolling Stones concert and made two-time Oscar-winning actress Hilary Swank call for paramedic help when he face-planted into a table during an interview. The fact that he can't drive and takes public transit in the Car Capital of the World only makes his life nuttier. He's also prone to saying the wrong thing at the wrong time, all the time, and when you put it all together, he's got a life that countless friends have told him should be a sitcom.

Well, he's finally made that sitcom! And he's world-premiering it at the DeMaat Theatre, named after Carl's beloved former teacher Martin DeMaat, because it's where his comic journey began (Carl is a Second City graduate and former BizCo writer). First, he'll offer about an hour of standup and stories from his bizarre life and then present his sitcom, which features very special guest star Stephen Tobolowsky, Variety's 9th busiest actor in Hollywood. Shot and edited by the team behind the CBS sitcom "Superior Donuts," this is gonna be a great night of fun!

Carl Kozlowski has performed standup at some of America's greatest comedy clubs, including the Laugh Factory in Hollywood, Chicago and New York City, Zanies Chicago, the Chicago Improv, Standup New York and Catch A Rising Star in New York City. He is a graduate of Second City Chicago's Conservatory program and wrote for its Business Company for a year. He was a popular humorous journalist for New City, Chicago Reader and the Chicago Tribune and has written for Esquire, GQ, The Progressive and many other publications and sites. He is the founder of the Radio Titans podcast network (www.radiotitans.com), which was named one of the 50 best talk outlets in America by www.talkers.com, the talk-radio industry's leading news site, and currently co-hosts "Radio Free Los Angeles" every Sunday night on KRLA-AM in Los Angeles. He is also the founder of Catholic Laughs, which brings clean clever comedy to Catholic churches and venues nationwide.

The sitcom "Asleep at the Wheel" is directed by Gina Levy and Christina Myers Hepburn, written by Carl Kozlowski with Christina Myers Hepburn & Gina Levy, co-created by Carl Kozlowski & Andre Coleman and executive produced by Wade Herter, Carl Kozlowski, Andre Coleman, Cliff Perotti, Neil Francis, Jeff Siena and Scott Minarik. It stars Carl Kozlowski, Christina Myers Hepburn, Ed Galvez, Scott Vinci, Ron Pearson, Ron Bush, Bob Fisher, Cliff Perotti, and Stephen Tobolowsky.
