Matthew Loren Cohen

Music Director

Matthew Loren Cohen is a classically trained pianist. He is currently music director of the main company of The Groundlings and teaches music improv at the Nerdist School in Los Angeles. Matthew has composed music for and music-directed Second City shows at Actors Theatre of Louisville, Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company and Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, among others. Matthew created and music-directed the improvised musical Best Musical! (The Groundlings, Porchlight Music Theatre), music-directed The Nuclear Family (The Groundlings, The Belt Theatre) and his music has been heard on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, the Sundance Channel and Spike TV.
