There are no mistakes (in improv)! Learn what a gift improv can be, whether you want to be more adaptable in group work situations, improve your public speaking skills, or learn a new art form. Students begin in Level A with ensemble, environment, and games, and end in Level E by rehearsing and performing their own fully improvised show.
Our Humour Doesn’t Retire program is for people 55 and older who are interested in meeting new people and learning the art of improvisation. Students will learn the basics of stage presence, character development, improv games, and scene work.
This program provides an interactive opportunity to learn skills derived from improv as part
of recovery. In addition, The Second City Training Centre has partnered with several licensed clinicians who have experience in both improv and mental health treatment to facilitate an 8-week therapy group. The therapy group helps to integrate the improv and CBT skills into real life.
IIntensive Programs are crash courses in the philosophies and methods The Second City uses to find, explore, and create material. In addition to locals, these programs in Chicago, Toronto and Hollywood attract students from all over the country and abroad.
Come learn new skills, meet new friends, and take advantage of Toronto’s rich comedy scene!
Intensives meet during the day Monday-Friday, and most are designed so students can take more than one in a given week.
