You Could “Uke”

Take a 4-week journey exploring the rudiments of playing the ukulele. We will cover tuning, chord vocabulary and applied music theory which will have you breaking out all kinds of tunes in no time! We’ll supply you with an arsenal of strums and easy licks. If you’ve played guitar before, the transition will be a snap with a handful of transposing tricks. Come prepared to sing and play and have a fun time.

You Could “Uke” meets once a week for 90 minutes over four weeks.

About the instructor: Jimmy Tomasello, aka Jimmy T., has taught thousands of students over the years at Chicago’s Old Town School of Folk Music where he currently manages the Guitar Program. He plays a variety of styles working with students of all ages. In a former incarnation he has done improv with David Shepherd, Del Close, Nate Herman and other luminaries of the genre. Over the years he has coached Paul Dinello and members of Baby Wants Candy. Rumor has it Jimmy taught a class on Elvis Costello tunes attended by an unknown Tina Fey.
