True Story for the Stage (Online)

Have you been bitten by the storytelling bug? Live, true-storytelling is both a trendy new performance form popularized by public radio shows and creative community events, and one of the oldest forms of performance there is. Storytelling has been used to teach, inspire, entertain and galvanize since before the written word. It belongs to everyone innately, and with this online class, we both honor your unique creative instinct for it, and hone the skills of crafting and presentation. This 8-week course addresses story structure, powerful language, honest presence, clarity of purpose, and avoidance of common pitfalls. We teach you to craft and perform a true personal story that is moving, effective, and entertaining.

This class includes written exercises and digitally recorded video assignments. Internal video recording software is available within the online classware, but basic video recording skills are recommended.
