Welcome to
The SuperAfroWavyDrippyExtraBrilliantDope Show

Thank you so much for joining us. We’re glad we get to celebrate these brilliant Black folks with you tonight. The folks we honor tonight had to walk a particularly difficult tightrope. They had to be both universally funny while being true to themselves, and they did it well.  It’s a special thing to feel like you belong for anyone. They brought characters and subject matters to this stage that had never been seen before that were so honest and real and unapologetically Black, that for those scenes I couldn’t help but feel at home. So if you’re Black like me, welcome home, this is for you, and if you’re not, well you’re welcome as well, cuz Black folks are cool like that. Let’s have a good time.

-Rob Wilson, Director
