TINA ARFAEE (Ensemble) has been writing and performing on multiple stages in Chicago since 2012, most notably at The Annoyance Theater with Matt Damon Improv. With MDI she wrote and starred in In-Diana: a web series. She also appeared on an episode of Chicago Fire, Centered: the web series, and short film, The Sweatshirt. CARISA BARRECA (Ensemble/Associate Director/Choreographer) is an Alumna of The Second City’s Resident Stage where she wrote and performed in three consecutive critically acclaimed revues. She has been with She The People since the beginning – writing, performing, touring, choreographing, and ADing this production. Past theatrical credits include performing at Lyric Opera with Patrick Stewart and Renee Fleming in The Second City’s Guide to the Opera, The Kennedy Center and at Goodman Theater with Twist Your Dickens and she wrote and performed in The Hubbard Street and Second City’s Collaboration, Art Of Falling which premiered at the Harris Theater in Chicago and The Ahmanson Theater in Los Angeles. Her recurring television credits include Lizzie on Fox’s Empire and Sue on POPTV’s Hot Date, along with credits on Chicago Fire, and her own award-winning webseries Doomsdate, which she wrote, performed, and produced. KATIE CAUSSIN (Ensemble) has been an actor in Chicago and at the Second City for many years. This bio is where she lists all of her credits/accomplishments. Since her biggest accomplishment to date is her dog-son Pedro, she will be highlighting his achievements. Pedro is a rescue who came up from rural Alabama (shout out to Felines and Canines). He received his AKC Puppy Star certificate from Urban Pooch. As of this writing he is 8 months old. His credits include being fully vaxxed, taking naps and being neutered because he rejects the patriarchy.
KAZI JONES (Ensemble) last appeared in the Boston run of She the People, after performing in the award-winning runs in Washington, DC, in 2018 and 2019. Kazi recently relocated to Chicago from Washington, DC, where she performed with theatre and film companies including Woolly Mammoth Theatre, Smithsonian Discovery Theatre, TBD Immersive, Theatre Prometheus, Anacostia Playhouse, Zhanra Group, Rorschach Theatre, Tigerhawk Films, and many others around the city. She is a native North Carolinian who loves cooking, documentaries, and general revelry.
YAZMIN RAMOS (Ensemble) is thrilled to be performing with The Second City’s SHE THE PEOPLE alongside this talented cast! Yazmin is an actor, comedian, and writer who performs all around Chicago. Highlights include: The Second City’s She The People Tour (Boston – Huntington Theatre Company), The Holy Fuck Comedy Hour (Annoyance Theatre), Burlesque is More (Annoyance Theatre), and Matt Damon Improv. She is currently staffed as a TV Writer on a morning cartoon sketch show and has had a couple of teeny tiny roles on TV as well. Represented by Grossman & Jack Talent.
LAUREL ZOFF PELTON (Ensemble) is a Chicago-based performance artist, writer, musician, and improviser. Originally from Minnesota, Laurel is a graduate of Northwestern University, Second City Conservatory, and iO Chicago Training Center and its Musical Improvisation program. Having performed in Second City Salute to Pride: Not Safe for Werk and with Second City Theatricals aboard NCL’s Norwegian Dawn, Laurel’s solo show Queer Little Hamster debuted in 2018 and is set to release an accompanying album this coming fall. CARLY HEFFERNAN (Original Director/Head Writer) is the Creative Director of The Second City Toronto. As well, she’s an award winning alumna of that stage where she wrote and performed in four main stage revues. She directed the Second City Toronto National Touring Company and went on to direct the critically acclaimed, Second City Toronto main stage revues, Come What Mayhem! and The Best is Yet to Come Undone as well as the hit Second City theatrical, She The People, which has played in Toronto, Chicago, Boston, Edmonton, Montreal and Washington, DC where it received the prestigious Helen Hayes Award for “Best Visiting Production.” Select writing credits include: George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight, Almost Genius, Irrelevant Show and most recently she was show runner and director for Season 3 of the CSA nominated TV show, Second Jen.
LISA McQUEEN (Music Director) toured with The Second City National Touring Company for four years and was MD for sit-down runs at Atlanta’s Alliance Theater, Denver Center for the Performing Arts, Rochester’s GEVA Theater, La Jolla Playhouse, Barbados Holder’s Festival, UP Comedy Club and Boom Chicago in Amsterdam. A long time Annoyance Theater Ensemble Member, Lisa has composed many original musicals there including Shark Tank, the Musical, Forty Whacks, The Dead Boy Scout Musical, and Raven and The Messenger among others, as well as musical revues about Bush and Trump. She was Music Director for the Off-Bway Production of Wildmen! with George Wendt and The People vs. Friar Lawrence at Chicago Shakespeare with Keegan-Michael Key. Lisa is a working jazz pianist in the Chicago area and is also Keyboardist for the tribute band The Rolling Clones.
WILLIAM COLLINS (Stage Manager) is excited to return to She The People having previously stage managed the run at Huntington Theater Company. Past Second City credits include productions at Woolly Mammoth Theater, The Kennedy Center and the national tour of The Realish Housewives: A Parody. Additional stage management credits include work with The Goodman Theatre, Paramount Theatre, First Folio, About Face Theatre, Chicago Humanities Festival, 6 seasons with Peninsula Players Theatre and the Chicago run of Hamilton.
ABBY BEGGS (Lighting Design) excited to be working with the Second City on She the People. Previously she’s worked with Second City as a designer on She the People and Gaslight District and as a Stage Manager on various productions. CHRIS PAGNOZZI (Projection Design) Chris Pagnozzi has held the position of The Second City’s Audio/Visual Archivist since 2007 and currently serves as Post Production Supervisor.. A Second City Conservatory Program graduate himself, Chris majored in Television Production with a concentration in writing at Columbia College, where he began interning for The Second City and fell in love with its groundbreaking form of comedy and deep Chicago roots. His mom still cuts his hair.
ELISE WATTMAN (Sound Design) is a pianist and jazz arranger who’s toured the world on keyboards, and is happy to finally settle down as a composer and audio lead at Jackbox Games. Elise has scored music for short films, podcasts and worked as a music director on the Second City’s e.t.c. stage. ZOE AGAPINAN (she/her) (Understudy for Yazmin) is an Actor, Comedian, and Writer based in Chicago. Originally from California, she moved to Chicago after graduating from UC Santa Cruz with a B.A. in Theater Arts (and a minor in Economics!). She has performed with the iO Theater, the CiC Theater, and is an alum of The Second City’s Severn Darden Graduate Program. Zoe is so excited and honored to be joining the cast of She The People!
LEXI ALIOTO (Understudy for Carisa) is absolutely thrilled to be performing in this iteration of She The People. She most recently toured with the show in Boston, MA alongside the Huntington Theater Company. Her Second City credit’s include Dysfunctional Family Affair, U/S for Deck The Hallmark, and Totally Ridiculous. She is also an alumni of Second City’s Severn Darden Graduate Programs TWISTY and Infinite Sundaes. Originally from Pittsburgh, PA, she moved to Chicago to pursue acting and comedy. She has improvised, written, and performed all over the Chicago stages, including The Annoyance (Bite Sized Broadway), iO Chicago (The Musical Armando), The Playground (Queer Eye: The Musical Parody), and many more. She is a graduate of The Hartt School with her B.F.A in Actor Training and is proudly represented by Grossman & Jack Talent. KENNEDY BALDWIN (Understudy for Tina) is a performer born and raised in Chicago. She attended Western Illinois University where she studied Music Business. She started taking improv classes at The Second City at the beginning of 2016 and has been in love with it ever since! She’s also taken classes at iO, CIC, and The Chicago Improv Den. RACHEL HALL (Understudy for Kazi) is a native of Dallas, Texas, but no stranger to Chicago or The Second City. After moving here in 2019, she participated in the Bob Curry Fellowship and completed the Improv Conservatory. Rachel is also an actor and stand-up comedian who you can see perform regularly at the Laugh Factory where she also produces the showcase Lowkey Funny that spotlights the best POC talent in the city. DARYN WHITNEY HARRELL (Understudy for Kazi) is ecstatic to be making her Second City debut with She The People! Nat’l Tour credits: The Book of Mormon (Ensemble) and Elf, The Musical (Jovie). HANNAH INGLE (Understudy for Carisa) originally from Missouri, has been living and performing in Chicago since 2014. A former member of Second City’s Severn Darden Graduate Program, Hannah can be seen performing comedy all around the city. Hannah particularly loves performing with her musical comedy duo Ruth and Elaine. CAT McDONNELL (Understudy for Laurel) An East Coast transplant, Cat studied Theater and Music at Providence College. She has performed for The Second City aboard Norwegian Cruise Line and teaches in The Second City and iO Training Centers. Recent directing credits include: The Second City’s Legendary Laughs and Assistant to the Director of The Second City’s 107th Mainstage Revue: Algorithm Nation Or The Static Quo. SHELBY PLUMMER (Understudy for Laurel) is a Chicago-based writer and performer. She is very excited to be joining Second City as a part of She the People’s Understudy Cast! In the past, Shelby has been a part of the She the People cast for their Boston run at Wellington Theater and a part of Second City’s Deck the Hallmark cast. Shelby is additionally the president of the James Conklin Memorial Scholarship. SOPHIA RAFIQI (Understudy for Yazmin) has been making people laugh & think & think-laugh all over Chicago since 2016. Her stage credits include The Second City’s Bob Curry Fellowship, NBCUniversal’s BreakOut Fest, the Chicago Sketch Comedy Festival, the San Francisco Sketch Comedy Festival, and the Mary Scruggs Works by Women Festival. She can also be seen in the webseries Codeswitched and the short film Close Ties to Home Country. CASSIDY RUSSELL (Understudy for Katie) (she/her) has been improvising since middle school (cool!). She performs regularly at the Annoyance Theatre, where she is also a teacher and resident director – she has both appeared in and directed Splatter Theater and It’s Christmas Goddamnit. Improvisationally, she performs with Annoyance house team Sight Unseen and iO’s Deep Schwa. Cassidy has appeared in multiple (multiple!) local car commercials.
IZZY SALHANI (Understudy for Tina) (she/they) is a stand-up comic and actor who cut her teeth in The Belly Room of the World Famous Comedy Store in West Hollywood, California. As the queer child of a Lebanese immigrant Father and apple-pie American mother, Izzy enjoys poking fun at unspoken social contracts in her routine. Izzy tours nationally and has performed in thirteen states and the District of Columbia. She is currently represented by Big Mouth Talent.
CAT SAVAGE (Understudy for Katie) is delighted to perform with The Second City! A Massachusetts native, she moved to Chicago after graduating from Brown University with a B.A. in History and Gender Studies. She is a proud graduate of The Second City Training Center’s Conservatory and Severn Darden Graduate Program, as well as iO’s training program.
