Peter is a pianist, composer/lyricist, and writer. After studying classical piano and earning degrees in Music Composition from the University of Western Ontario and the University of Victoria, he was lured to Second City in 2009 by the siren call of improv. Since then, Peter has played in hundreds of shows at the Second City Training Centre, as well as The Soaps, The Carnegie Hall Show, Troubadour, Theatresports, Improv Night in Canada, Wheel of Improv, and Monkey Toast. If you watch closely, you can even sometimes spot him playing trombone in the band for Let The Music Play. When he isn’t improvising, Peter remains active as a songwriter, composer, and theatrical sound-designer. His classical compositions have been performed throughout Canada and the US, and in the United Kingdom, Singapore, and Japan. Bonus fact: Peter once guest-starred as a theremin-player on the CBC kids show Razzberry Jazzberry Jam. www.petercavell.com.
