Teen Conservatory

The Teen Conservatory Program is an exciting journey of improv and sketch. This 8 month program is broken up into TWO ACTS (Act I – September to December, and Act II – January to April). The program culminates in an original Second City Style revue with original sketches, songs and monologues. In The Second City Teen Conservatory you will perform classic archive sketches and learn how to use improv as a writing tool. With a specific focus on performance you will get the chance to put your skills on stage in The John Candy Box Theatre as part of a monthly showcase!

Over the past 12 years our world renowned Second City Conservatory Program has produced some well known Canadian Stars; Jessica Holmes, Darryl Hinds, Marty Adams, Jason DeRosse, Adam Cawley to name a few. We are proud to expand our amazing Conservatory Program to include teens this year!

SUBMISSIONS - Due September 9th for the 2011/2012 program

In order to apply you must have at least 100 hours of improv experience, and be between the ages of 15-18

To apply for the program you must submit:

• Resume (with all improv, acting and stage experience)
• Headshot (does not need to be professional)
• Essay (150 words, why do you want to be part of the Teen Conservatory Ensemble)
• Send to: training.to@secondcity.com
• Successful candidates will be contacted with an audition time

AUDITIONS
Auditions will be held on Friday September 16th beginning at 5pm.

Please note, the classes will be held on Fridays 5-8pm beginning September 23rd.

You must be ready to commit to the entire duration of the program.

Tuition: September 23 – December 16: $470.00 + HST

Tuition: January 13 – April 27: $545.00 + HST
