Summer Camps 2013 (Grades 5-8)

We have camps and summer intensives for grades 5-8!

Our Summer Camps explore the fundamentals of improvisation and sketch comedy. Through a variety of different themes and specialty areas of comedic performance each week, our camps help children access creativity, boost self-confidence and develop spontaneity and playfulness. At the end of each week, campers get a chance to show their friends and family just what they've learned. All Camps are taught by talented, and experienced Second City instructors/actors.) Whether you've booked your first feature film or never stepped foot on stage, this camp is for you!

Our 1 week camps are Monday to Friday 9am-4pm (some holidays apply, camp tuition is prorated accordingly)
Tuition for 1 week camps - $410.00+HST

After Camp Care is available Monday-Thursday until 5pm. An additional charge of $10 per day per child will be incurred. Please notify The Training Centre in advance if After Camp Care is required.

Sibling discounts are available if registered for the same session! Please register directly with the office for this discount.

Remember to hold onto all Summer Camp receipts. You may be eligible for a Children's Arts Tax Credit. We charge $10 to re-issue receipts at tax time. If you do not receive your receipt 24 hours after registration please contact The Training Centre Office — 416.340.7270.

July 2-5 Improv Games REGISTER

  • Campers will play fun improv games (like you've seen on Whose Line is it Anyway, Theatresports and The Canadian Improv Games) to help access creativity, boost self-confidence and develop spontaneity and playfulness. The campers will be showcased at the end of the week for family and friends! (No experience required).

July 8 – 12 Character Camp REGISTER

  • Explore how to create a wide variety of characters, big and small (Like the ones you see on SCTV and That's So Weird). Campers will discover characters through a variety of fun filled exercises. All of the wonderful and wacky characters our campers create will be showcased in the Camp Show at the end of the week! (No Experience Required).

July 15 – 19 Adventure-prov REGISTER

  • Every great novelist begins with a single idea. Learn how to build on that idea and create your on stories, through improv! Students have a blast all while nurturing their creativity and building their narrative skills. All of the fun will be showcased in the Camp Show at the end of the week! (No experience required).

July 22 – 26 Improv & Sketch REGISTER

  • Use improv as a writing tool. Learn the beginning fundamentals of writing your own sketches (brainstorming, collaboration and reincorporation). Campers will look at other well known forms of sketch comedy, such as Saturday Night Live, SCTV and more! Their new skills will be showcased in the Camp Show at the end of the week! (No Experience Required).

July 29 – August 2 Improv Games REGISTER
