An accelerated program that teaches the fundamentals of improvisation using theatre games and scene work. Must be an ACTRA/Equity member or have a theatre degree. Improvisation can help you with spontaneity, focus, being in the moment, comedic timing, and the collaborative creative process. This 7-week course is designed for those whose training has not emphasized improvisation. The Second City has trained actors in Toronto for over 25 years. Alumni from the Toronto company have performed at Stratford, Canadian Stage, Princess of Wales and the Royal Alex; they have won Doras, Geminis and Canadian Comedy Awards.
