Monika Smith was born and raised in Toronto, Canada. She started modeling internationally at a young age under Ford and Elite until she realized she likes food and smiling too much.

Monika has performed with The Second City Toronto Touring Company, and numerous shows in theatres across Canada. Monika has performed at Second City Hollywood, Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in Los Angeles and New York, The Chicago Improv Festival, iO Chicago, iO West, Del Close Marathon, Bad Dog Theatre, Theatre Sports and more. Monika has been the lead on MTV's Disaster Date, guest starred on Two And a Half Men, recurring on Nick Swardson's Pretend Time and Spike TV's Players, in sketches on The Tonight Show, as well as TBS's Conan, and more.

When not acting or writing, Monika can be found teaching and performing on two weekly house teams at Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, and can be seen weekly at Second City Los Angeles in her alumni team Smokehouse, or her two man team McSmith.
