Adult Summer Boot Camp

Spend part of your summer at The Second City Hollywood where you can work out your creative juices in our adult boot camp. The Second City has launched the careers of countless actors, writers, directors and producers, and has influenced American comedy like no other theater. Our summer program attracts students from all over the country and abroad. Learn new skills, meet new friends and enjoy Los Angeles in the summer, all while having loads of fun and laughs.

Camp will take place Monday through Friday 11am to 4:30pm. Each day, you will rotate through Improvisation, Sketch Comedy and Movement. All students are welcome and no previous writing, improvisation or movement training is needed. At the end of the week, invite your friends and family to a free show where you will show off your new improv, movement and sketch skills.

• Improvisation: Explore the fundamentals of improvisation as taught and performed at The Second City. Develop skills like creative thinking, self-confidence, listening, brainstorming, team building, empathy and communication while having loads of fun and laughs.
• Sketch Comedy: Learn the basics of sketch comedy scenes, the building block of any Second City show. You'll study classic Second City scenes, use improvisation to develop scenes and write original sketches.
• Movement: An introduction to movement games and techniques. This class introduces students to how movement can take your performance to the next level and inform your audience of character without saying a word.
