Andy Miara is a comedy writer and director based in Chicago. His sketch comedy group, My Mans, has appeared in the Chicago sketch comedy festival, the TBS Just for Laughs Festival, and was invited to appear in the NYC SketchFest. Miara co-wrote and directed the group’s sketch comedy TV pilot, which debuted at the 2010 New York Television Festival. He has developed TV projects with Comedy Central, Jamie Kennedy Entertainment, and Playground Entertainment. Miara’s plays have been produced across the country; most recently, his play, Rally Monkey, won the 2010 Theater Masters national playwriting competition, earning productions in Aspen, CO and New York City (Soho Rep). Miara has directed the Second City National Touring Company, as well as projects for Second City Theatricals and Second City Communications. Miara has an MFA in Screenwriting/Playwriting from Northwestern University, where he currently teaches Screenwriting.
