Jason Grimm has played the piano for The Second City since 1999. He was musical director for the national touring company for two years, musically directed for two ships and has done various shows for Second City Communications, Theatricals and the Training Center. Over the years, he’s also had the privilege to musically direct, compose and play for Baby Wants Candy, Comedy Sportz, I.O., The Galileo Players, Spark Creative, GayCo and The Annoyance Theatre (where he also designed and started teaching their first music improv class). Most recently, he’s taken on the challenge of improvising musicals in the style of Stephen Sondheim with “The Leotard Foundation”. Jason teaches acting for several youth arts programs too (Gallery 37, The Goodman Theatre, DePaul University and The Auditorium Theatre). When not teaching children, he writes and performs offensive, dirty songs every week at Davenport’s Piano Bar as half of “Smith and Grimm”. Jason also gets onstage as often as possible. He’s an ensemble member of Hell In a Handbag Productions, where he’s been seen in Trogg!, Poseidon: an Upside-Down Musical and Eating Raoul.
