Janna Sobel is an actress, director, improvisor and storyteller. She currently teaches performance through the Second City's Youth Training Center, the Old Town School of Folk Music, the University of Chicago Lab School, and in CPS Schools through the Poetry Center of Chicago. She is the Associate Artistic Director of Mudlark Theater Company in Evanston. Before falling for Chicago's creative heart and moving here two years ago, she lived in San Francisco, where she founded and taught in the Theater program at Presidio Hill School, California's oldest progressive school. In Chicago, she has had the honor of working with good souls at Chicago Dramatists, 16th Street Theater, WNEP Productions, Courier 12 Collective, and Second City's De Maat and Skybox Theaters, and performs regularly with Improv Playhouse and her iO Harold team Phoenix Lights. She is a graduate of the Second City Conservatory and iO Training Center, and is a company member of Radiostar Improv.
