You've mastered writing sketches, now are you ready to become a playwright? In Writing the One-Act Play, you will take the skills you acquired in Levels 1-4 (writing a sketch that's short, fast and to the point), and learn how to slow down a bit, explore characters, stories and point of view and begin to find your voice as a playwright. Assignments will include writing your own pieces and reading one-act plays by local, contemporary and classic playwrights. By the end of the class you will have a first draft of a one-act play that is ready for submission to many contests throughout the world.
