Acting Ensemble

ages 14-18

This performance-based class takes known plays and stories and brings them to the stage! Students work with a director to learn the rehearsal process and present the play for two performances on a Second City stage.

$750, 14 weeks, 2 hours, meets twice per week

Auditions for Winter 2013 are Sunday, December 9 from 5:00-6:30pm. To schedule an audition call the training center at 312-664-3959 or sign up online. Auditioning students will need to prepare a monologue and bring a current acting resume and photo.

The Fall class will meet on Tuesdays 5-7pm and Sundays 10am-12pm.

Fall Play under consideration: In a Room Somewhere by Susan Zeder (non-musical)
Suddenly, five adults find themselves in a room somewhere; a room with no windows, no doors and only the vastness of space where the ceiling ought to be. When they begin to find relics from their own childhoods, they discover that the only way out of the room is to journey through their own pasts. This powerful play of great humor, warmth and emotional intensity is the result of a three-year collaboration between this award-winning playwright and the gifted Metro Theatre Circus ensemble. It breaks new ground in the theatre for young audiences.
