Second City hiring Technical Director for Equity National Tour. Must be detail oriented with excellent people management skills. TD  responsible for insuring quality and proper operation, installations and personnel. TD  directs all technical disciplines. TD works in liaison with Directors to guarantee sound operations of individual shows as well as successful transfer between venues.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Planning, managing set-up, operation, maintenance and striking

* Driving vehicle with cast and crew (12 passenger van)

• Supervise set-up of custom made grid in accordance with the engineering standards.

• Supervise, direct technical specialists, local labor to ensure integrity and quality.

• Manage resources, budgets, schedules, deadlines.

• Provide solutions dealing with site specificity in accordance with show requirements.

• Be on call during rehearsals as well as for evening performances;

 

REQUIREMENTS

• 5 to 8 years experience as professional TD.

• Knowledge of transportation requirements and loading;

• 5 years experience equipment used for live productions: audio, video, lighting, SFX, scenic, acrobatic rigging;

• Experience with regulatory safety codes and norms; ability to identify safety issues, implement solutions.

• Navigate different Cad platforms; Microsoft Office essential;
