Kaye Winks’ timely one-woman show Token is returning to The Second City Training Center for a one-night only performance followed by a Q&A hosted by Erica Mann Ramis, member of The Second City’s Harold Ramis Film School Advisory Board, Token director Schoen Smith, and facilitated by diversity trainer, Jim Lew.
In Token, Kaye shares her hilarious and often cringeworthy adventures in being the lone black person in a world of white.
Token enjoyed a sold-out run in the Second City Training Center in May-June 2017 and has toured to UCB Los Angeles, Out of Bounds Comedy Festival in Austin, TX, and United Solo Theatre Festival in New York City, the world’s largest festival for solo theatre.
Some rave reviews:
“She’s just spectacular…this is going to be a very, very big talent so go see her now before she shows up on Saturday Night Live.” – Kelly Kleiman, DUELING CRITICS 90.9FM
“A saucy new solo show” “a thoughtful and reflective coming-of-age story” “Kaye has a knack for uncomfortable often hilarious jokes” and “the stories are relatable, even humbling at times.” – CHICAGO READER
Token is Chicago Reader Recommended. Bring your laughs, bring your cheers, and of course, bring your black friend and hang out after for a fun post-show discussion.
