Location & Parking

Getting Here

The Second City Toronto is located at 51 Mercer Street, Toronto ON. It is easily reached by public transportation, bicycle, car, or on foot. You can get directions by entering your location here.  We are located in the heart of downtown Toronto, in the vibrant entertainment district.

Subway Directions:

Exit the subway at St. Andrew Station. Walk west on King St. (650M), turn south on Blue Jays Way / Peter St, and walk one block to Mercer Street. If you’d rather not walk, you can connect to a westbound 504 King Streetcar when you exit the subway, get off at Peter Street / Blue Jays Way, and proceed south to Mercer. (You will need to get a transfer when you get on the subway in order to connect to the streetcar.)

Driving Directions from the Gardiner Express Way:

Take Spadina St. Exit, and proceed Northbound. Continue on Spadina, and then turn right onto Front Street West. From here, turn left onto John Street and then left onto Mercer Street. The main theatre entrance will be on your left hand side.

Parking Locations

The Second City does not have a dedicated parking lot, however, there are many public parking options located within a block of the theatre doors. Parking prices vary, ranging from $10-$15 for an evening. Prices may be higher due to special events in the city.

Public Outdoor Parking Lot – Located on Blue Jays Way, just south of Wellington Street. Entrances are located either off of Blue Jays Way or Front Street.
Before 6pm – $3.00 / ½ hour. Maximum $12.00
After 6pm – $10.00-$20.00

The Hyatt Regency on King Underground Parking – Located on King Street, across from the main theatre doors. Entrance is off of Widmer Street.

The Second City is pleased to offer our guests preferred room rates at nearby hotels, starting at $159 per night (Based on double occupancy. Taxes not included, and blackout dates may apply.)

FAQs

How long is the performance?

The performance is approximately 1hr and 45min (including intermission) This does not include the complimentary improv set performed after each show.

Is the venue accessible?

The Second City is completely accessible through the Wayne Gretzky's Restaurant entrance located adjacent to the theatre. The ramp takes you into the main dining area, and there is a short corridor that connects to our theatre. It is also suggested that when you booking guests specify their needs and we will guarantee them seats on the main floor.

Can I bring my children to the performance?

Yes, but we always advise that the language and situations are adult in nature and contain profanity. Our performances are similar to an R rated movie, and suggested for audience members ages 16+.

Are you hiring?

What if I buy a ticket, and can no longer attend the performance?

If you are not able to attend the show for which you have purchased, please kindly contact the box office as soon as possible and we would be happy to transfer your tickets to an alternate date. A $5.00 transfer fee will apply, and space is subject to availability.

How does the seating work?

Our cabaret style theatre is the perfect place to meet new friends! Theatre doors open 45 min prior to showtime, and seating is assigned based upon arrival.

Do you offer student discounts?

Absolutely! We offer a limited number of reduced price tickets for students, be sure to bring a piece of valid photo student ID to claim your tickets at the box office.

Does The Second City offer donations for charities?

Please send us a hard-copy written request (on company/organization letterhead, if possible) to our mailing address or fax number. Please allow 4 weeks between the request and the date you will require it. The letter must include a brief description of your event or organization, the date you require it by, and a return mailing address (if different from the organization's address). Without this information, we cannot consider your request.

We cannot guarantee a ticket donation in every case, but these are the best practices for us to assist you. There is a limited number of ticket vouchers we can distribute per month, and we favour those requests which follow our guidelines.
