Lee Barats began improvising and writing comedy in 2005 at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. He became president of the school's improv troupe, Smile and Nod, overseeing two trips to perform in the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Lee moved to Chicago in 2010 and became involved with the improv and sketch comedy scene. He has completed the iO and Annoyance Theater improv programs and The Second City Conservatory. He works regularly with Second City Communications, and performs regularly at iO with Big Spoon, at The Annoyance in The Holy Fuck Comedy Hour, Upstairs Gallery with The Dirty Shame, The Playground with The Grrr, and Chemically Imbalanced Theater with Mad Contender. Lee is also a member of the sketch comedy collective Kill All Comedy. Lee has written several shows, including The Boise Shuffle at iO, and The 101th and God is Gay at The Annoyance Theater.
