Lisa Merchant

Has been studying, performing and teaching the art of improvisation for 30+ years.

She has been a Faculty member with The Second City Training Centre and a corporate facilitator with The Second City Works division for 28 years. Teaching improvisation Levels A-E, Improv for Actors, Humour Doesn't Retire, Longform and The Conservatory Program. Honoured to be the first recipient  of the Frank McAnulty 2019 Second City Training Centre Instructor Recognition Award.

Currently, Lisa is Faculty of Media & Creative Arts - Comedy: Writing and Performance at Humber College.

She is the 2019 and 2020 Toronto Star Reader's Choice Platinum Winner for Best Theatre Instructor. Lisa is a multiple nominee and winner of 4 Canadian Comedy Awards, 3 for Best Female Improvisor. She created, produced and performed in March of Dames Comedy Festival 1994-2003.
