Alia Rasul

Alia Rasul (Ensemble) is a proud Filipina and a Canadian Comedy Award nominated writer and performer. She co-wrote and performed the 2019 Fringe Toronto smash hit “Tita Jokes” as a member of the Tita Collective, which won the Second City Outstanding New Comedy award and Patron’s Pick. She received rave reviews for her performance in the Toronto Fringe production of Generally Hospital whose “outstanding ensemble” won the David Séguin Memorial Award. She is an alumna of the Second City Conservatory and the Bob Curry Fellowship programs and understudied for two seasons of "She The People". She performs regularly at the Bad Dog Theatre in shows such as Yas Kween and Theatresports. With the support of the Toronto Arts Council and the Tarragon Theatre, Alia is developing her play “Tang Ina” which will be presented in October 2019. She is the artistic director of Tawa Filipinx Comedy Festival.  She has a Bachelor’s degree from McGill University and currently works as Bad Dog Theatre’s Inclusion Director where the inclusion and diversity initiatives are "gold standard".
