Kerry Sheehan is an education professional with more than 20 years experience in all aspects of arts management and program development. Since joining The Second City in 2007, Kerry has expanded the student population of the company’s training centers in Chicago, Los Angeles, and Toronto, from 1500 students per week to over 5500. During her tenure, Kerry project managed capital expansion projects totalling more than $4M.
Prior to Second City, Kerry was the Director of Educational Programs for the Old Town School of Folk Music where she played an instrumental role in the school’s growth. She directed the school’s education programs and outreach activities, and managed the school’s 250-person faculty, the education management staff, and the activities of more than 6500 students. Prior to the Old Town School of Folk Music, Kerry worked at WTTW/Channel 11 as the Associate Producer/Talent Coordinator for Center Stage, and served as the Educational Advisor for the children’s television program Jack’s Big Music Show for Nickelodeon. She has served on the board of directors for the Illinois Theatre Association and CircEsteem. Kerry received a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Theory and Composition from the University of Kansas and is still actively involved in the local music scene. When Kerry is not at Second City, she can be found walking her rescue pit, Sparky, or driving her daughter around town to all of her extra-curricular activities.
