Show Proposal Information

The Second City — Hollywood invites you to submit proposals to produce shows. Below is a list of shows that can be submitted to. The person submitting the proposal should have a significant role in the production, such as actor, director, writer or producer. Thank you for your submission!

IMPROV SHOWS
MONDAY NIGHT, 10pm, "IMPROV ROULETTE hosted by SMOKEHOUSE"
Each week, the SC Alumni Improv group "Smokehouse" hosts a different guest improv group. Your group will play for 25 mins, followed by "Smokehouse" which will also play 25mins. You must play your next scheduled date before you submit for the next available date.

SATURDAY NIGHT, 9:30pm, "SATURDAY NIGHTS MAIN EVENT"
In "Saturday Night's Main Event" the improv group Bro Squad 5 plays and hosts two other guest longform groups. Each group plays a 18-25 min slot.

TUESDAY NIGHTS (bi-weekly), 10pm, "THUNDERDOME"
"Thunderdome" is a competitive improv show. Two teams play, and the audience chooses a winner to move on to the next show!

SKETCH SHOWS
WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY NIGHTS, 8pm, "SKETCHCASE"
"Sketchcase" is a show slot for sketch shows, booked Bi-Weekly runs on Wednesdays & in three week runs on Thursdays. Shows can run up to 50 mins long.

LATE NIGHT/VARIETY
FRIDAYS, 10:30pm
Fridays at 10:30pm is an alternative timeslot open to any and all kinds of programming. Improv, Sketch, or other!

THE SECOND CITY — HOLLYWOOD THEATRE SHOW SUBMISSION FAQ's

WHAT DOES IT COST TO PERFORM AT SECOND CITY — HOLLYWOOD?
If performing in one of the shows listed above, there is no charge to perform at the Second City — Hollywood studio theatre. The Second City will decide the ticket price of your show (all shows cost $0—$10) and retain all ticket revenue.

DO I NEED MY OWN STAGE MANAGER?
A box office manager, house manager, and stage manager are provided by Second City for all performances.

WHAT IF I NEED A TECH REHEARSAL?
Sketch shows are provided a one-hour tech with your stage manager. Shows will co-ordinate with our Technical Director to schedule the tech.

DO I GET ANY COMPS?
Almost all shows get comps. Number of comps is determined by the type of show. If your show is booked, SC will provide you with specific comp info.

WHAT PRESS MATERIALS DOES SC NEED FROM ME?
Second City requests a press blurb and a jpeg from all shows that are scheduled.
