January 11, 2014 – Open House at The Second City Hollywood

Hello Los Angeles!
The Second City Hollywood is having an open house on January 11th to give everyone the opportunity to come into our building and community to take part in an amazing workshop and/or show for FREE! Los Angeles has given us so many incredible opportunities so we want to give back. We have workshops and shows for youth and adults so if you have a family, you can all go into a workshop at the same time and see a show when you’re finished. If you have never been to Second City Hollywood before, there is a lot of helpful information towards the bottom of the page to help you with directions and parking. If you wish to take a workshop, call 323.464.8542 to reserve your spot, if you wish to see a show you can call the same number or click directly on the link next to the show you wish to see and reserve your tickets online. 12pm/ Youth Jam: Students from our youth conservatory improvise!

3:30pm/ The Really Awesome Improv Show: Fun (and appropriate) for all ages, this show features improv games that rely on audience suggestions and participation. Great for the whole family, come be a part of the show!

4:30pm/ Grad Improv Jam: Grads from the Second City Conservatory perform short form improv games.

5:30pm/ Alumni Improv Jam: Alumni from the Second City resident stages perform Long Form improv.

6:30pm/ Detention Hall: Our highest level of teen improvisers perform!

7:00pm/ McSmith & BingoMcSmith - Kevin McGeehan and Monika Smith perform a completely improvised one-act play. (TV credits include shows on NBC, TBS, Spike TV, Comedy Central, MTV and more). BINGO is where student are chosen from the audience to play with seasoned Alumni.

8:00pm/ The Best of Second City: The Best of Second City is comprised of some of the best sketches from The Second City resident stages and performed by members of The Second City community.

9:00pm/ The Untold Story of Indie Rock: A Rock Musical comedy. 5 performer play 12 bands and a slue of comic characters in a mock history of Independent Rock!

10:30pm/ Saturday Night’s Main Event: Saturday Night's Main Event hosted by Bro Squad 5 features no holds barred comedy from the most electrifying improv teams in town! Card subject to change.

SUGGESTIONS FOR THE WORKSHOP:
• IMPROV - Wear comfortable clothing that you can move around in easily, no skirts ladies. Please wear closed toed shoes, do not wear flip flops or sandals.
• WRITING- Bring either pen/paper or your laptop.

• Here’s a link to parking structures close to Second City
• There are also flat pay lots directly behind our building on Schrader and also on Wilcox.
• Be VERY careful about parking at a meter. Nothing ruins a fun day more than getting towed.
