Q&A with the cast of The Book of Mormon
Friday, April 19
4-5pm, Up Comedy Club
Free to current and former TC students
The Book of Mormon is the musical that took Broadway by storm. It is the winner of nine Tony Awards including Best Musical. Now it's here in Chicago where its run has been extended after an initial sell-out. We're pleased to be joined by two of the leading performers of the Chicago cast, Nic Rouleau and Ben Platt.
With a book and score by South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone as well as Avenue Q's Robert Lopez, The Book of Mormon follows two mismatched Mormon missionaries who are sent to Uganda to spread their religion. Upon arrival they learn their training may not have quite prepared them for the many challenges they are about to face.
Nic Rouleau plays Elder Price. He joined the Chicago company of The Book of Mormon directly from the Broadway cast where he also starred as Elder Price. He also performed with the national tours of Legally Blonde (Emmett) and Toy Story: The Musical (Woody).
Ben Platt plays Elder Cunningham and received rave reviews for taking his character in a different direction from the original production. He recently made his onscreen debut this fall in Universal Pictures' Pitch Perfect.
This Q&A is free for current and former Training Center students. Anyone who is not a student can reserve a ticket but will be required to pay the one-time $15 student membership. Space will be limited so reservations will be required.
Reservations for the Q&A are available online or by contacting the Training Center. If event registration is full, some seats may be available on the day of the event on a first come first served basis only.
