Secrets and Lies – The Art of Subtext

You’re funny…Now what? This workshop ups your improv game by helping you make bold, sharp character choices using subtext. Through secrets and lies, we explore the train of thought your characters have and the reasons they have for doing thing. We will be fleshing them out and making your scene work more grounded by making your characters more dimensional! This is an improv-based acting bootcamp! Let’s take it to the next level!

About the instructor: Ashley Comeau is an actor, improviser, and writer hailing from Toronto, Canada. Ashley is a Second City mainstage alumna who wrote and starred in three revues at The Second City Toronto. Her revues garnered her a Dora nomination and a Canadian Comedy Award nomination. She was named Best Female Improviser in Toronto from NOW Magazine’s “Best Of Awards 2015”. She has performed with the likes of Martin Short, Colin Mochrie and John Cleese. She performs and teaches all over North America and Europe with her comedy duo The Lusty Mannequins and in many shows like Theatresports, Live Journal, Throwdown, and Cult Wayward.
