The Second City
Klaus joined The Second City in 1997 as a stage manager for the Chicago-based Second City Touring Company. After a year traveling Pennsylvania and the world, he moved to the resident ETC stage where he opened five revues. Klaus has stage-managed, music-directed, directed, tech-directed, designed, and produced at The Second City, and remains in awe of the amazing people he has been privileged to call peers. In 2002, Klaus became a Producer for Second City Communications, helping Tom Yorton and the creative team develop innovative new offerings and managing hundreds of live and multimedia events. In June of 2005, he accepted promotion to Executive Director of The Second City Toronto. In this position, Klaus has led the opening of Second City's new theatre on Mercer Street and the premieres of more than a dozen revues, including their latest, the critically acclaimed - Dreams Really Do Come True! (and other lies). He also works with Second City Entertainment on Canadian television projects - including producing the upcoming I, Martin Short, Goes Home.
